I grew up in a family that chose quality and timelessness in every decision, a value that made me a lifelong loyalist to independent boutiques and the brands they carry. The craft mass retail can't match, with limited runs, garments made one by one, and the whole personalized experience that comes with it. That conviction became PALETTÉ, the marketplace I co-founded and lead, that curates inventory across independent boutiques and brands into a personalized storefront for every shopper. Before PALETTÉ, I worked as a strategy consultant, sourced and closed deals end-to-end at a search fund, and built my own lacrosse products and services business as a former coach and NCAA player.
Outside of PALETTÉ, I love cooking, endurance sports, and boutiques worth traveling for; Jei Brand and Lander Urquijo in Madrid, Game & Gun in Copenhagen. If I’m not at a stove or halfway through a marathon, I’m probably eyeing something with a great cut.

I'm Matson Martin, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of PALETTÉ. I grew up in San Francisco in an entrepreneurial family, watching my mom run a game development studio and my uncle build a shoe business. That background led me to study Business Analytics and Entrepreneurship at Boston College, where I started applying the instincts I grew up with to building something of my own.
PALETTÉ came out of something straightforward: my girlfriend wanted to shop at independent boutiques but couldn't find them. The stores were there. So were the customers. They just had no way to reach each other. We built PALETTÉ to fix that. Shoppers get matched to stores based on how they actually dress. Boutiques get data on who their customers are, what they buy, and what they spend, information most small stores have never had access to before.
I grew up with three sisters who made fashion a constant in the house, and got voted best dressed in high school; style has always mattered to me, long before I could build anything around it. Before becoming the CTO at PALETTÉ, I helped engineer at BC's PyTorchConnectomics Lab, and I built BrainFit, an iOS app for my mom's neuropsychology private practice. I've always been a builder entrenched in the world of fashion. PALETTÉ is the first time I've gotten to do both at once. Outside of work I love basketball, eating good food, and playing poker with my friends.
