Growing up in Caracas, Venezuela, I watched food shortages disrupt daily life, and became interested early on in what makes food systems resilient or fragile. Over the past 8 years, I've traveled to more than 7 countries and lived in 10 cities, working internationally in political consulting, government, and strategy consulting. While researching a political campaign, I spoke with cattle ranchers about what they wanted most from a potential new government. Ahead of public education, healthcare, or running water, they asked for subsidies for scales. That told me everything about how painful and inaccessible basic data collection is for farmers, valued even over access to services most people consider essential. That conversation became the starting point for Luzardo, the company I founded to close that gap. I'm also a Carnegie Mellon University and University of Florida alumni.
I studied Information Systems at Carnegie Mellon University, where my undergraduate capstone focused on designing and developing an asynchronous farm management platform. Since then, I’ve built large-scale distributed systems as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, developing expertise in scalable infrastructure, backend systems, and full-stack product development. I also completed the Defense Innovation Unit Commercialization Accelerator, where I conducted more than 100 customer discovery interviews, developed a computer vision solution, and took a product from customer discovery through technical validation and commercialization planning. At Luzardo, I bring together those experiences to build practical AI systems that make precision agriculture accessible to ranchers.
Growing up in India, I spent my early years on my grandmother's farm. As a published Computer Vision researcher, I find this problem and its use of technology for the solution compelling. I have a background in both technology and management. Having a CS undergraduate degree and a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University, I have focused on product management and strategy for the last few years, taking four products from 0 to 1 in the past two years. I have worked in domains spanning medtech, digital therapeutics, consumer products, and small-business financing. I enjoy working in domains that are underserved, both in terms of attention and technology.
