Celebrating WELL Health’s $45 million Series C and What it Means for Patient Communications

The way we communicate with our healthcare professionals is broken. Why can’t I text my doctor’s office when I can live-chat in virtually every other industry? No, I don’t just want to “Text C to confirm your appointment,” I want to text back to find a new time. And while I’m at it, how about asking how to find my latest bill? How am I still missing patient intake forms that go directly to my spam folder? How is it possible I missed an important update about my health plan because it came in a paper envelope that my mail carrier sandwiched between a credit card offer and this week’s grocery specials?
When I met Guillaume de Zwirek in 2018, he painted a picture of a future I’d long hoped for. It was one where I’d have a single point of contact at my doctor’s office with which I could communicate asynchronously and never worry about something getting lost in the shuffle. It was an intriguing concept that immediately resonated. Gui pulled the veil back on a product and organization that were nothing short of spectacular and shortly thereafter we led the Series A. It was my first deal as a venture investor and one I haven’t mentioned publicly until today.

By unifying and automating disjointed communications across healthcare organizations, WELL Health helps 200k+ healthcare providers facilitate more than 1 billion messages for 30+ million patients annually. We couldn’t be more proud of what Gui and team have accomplished these last two years.
